I LOVE things that are two in one, like the Wuzzles from my childhood. You remember the theme song, "two times the fun wrapped up and rolled into one." Well, a recent study has stumbled upon a drug that may be capable of treating multiple conditions, an epilepsy drug that can reverse obesity in rats.
"Even rats bred to be obese lost up to 19 % of their
weight & normal rats lost 12 to 20 % of their weight
after 40 days of injections of the drug, called
vigabatrin or GVG, the team at the U.S. Department
of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory found."

In addition to treating epilepsy and possibly obesity, GVG has shown potential for treating drug and alcohol addiction. No seizures, no withdrawals, and weight loss... it sounds wonderful or too good to be true.
