Too Risque for Television?

The above Lane Bryant ad has been causing quite a stir, as neither Fox nor ABC have wanted to air it during their primetime spots as they find it too risque. Fox has requested that the ad be edited before it can be aired during American Idol, and ABC flat out refused to air it during Dancing with the Stars. Both networks have claimed to be offended by the amount of cleavage that is shown by the model, which I must admit is ample. However, I do not think the execs at Fox or ABC are concerned about modesty since they have no problem showing Victoria's Secret commercials like the one below. A post on Lane Bryant's blog stated, "ABC and Fox have made the decision to define beauty for you by denying our new, groundbreaking Cacique commercial from airing freely on their networks."

I have to agree, it is terribly hypocritical. One commercial cannot be acceptable in the eyes of a network while the other deemed unsuitable for airing. Unless of course the networks don't find the likes of Miranda Kerr sexy...

What do you think? Is VS tame compared to LB? Or is there a double standard for curvy gals in lingerie?
