The movie follows four babies through their first year of life: Ponijao from Namibia, Mari from Japan, Hattie from America, and Bayar from Mongolia. There is very little dialogue and there are no subtitles when another language is spoken, however the soundtrack compensates for any perceived lulls. The message I took away from the film was that babies need only loving parents for their contentment, not material things. And animals seem exceptionally tolerant to babies, as you can see:
