I have wrapped up my renal rotation, and I have mixed feelings about it. While I am less intimidated by the diet recommendations and by dialysis, I would struggle to be compliant on the diet. I would be taking handfuls of binders to maintain my diet coke addiction...
I am glad to be moving on to a new rotation, but unfortunately it will not be a happy one. Up next for me is cancer. I had no idea how emotionally draining the internship would be. Hopefully I can make it through without becoming numb to the suffering of the patients.
In other news my mentor and I have FINALLY submitted the manuscript we have been working on FOREVER for publication in AJCN! Crossing my fingers the reviewers won't tear it up too badly.
